Falcon Communications Solutions, Inc. Breaks Ground on New Warehouse
Thursday, August 04, 2005
Manassas, Virginia, August 4, 2005– Falcon Communications Solutions, Inc. celebrated the groundbreaking of its new 6,000 square foot warehouse facility as part of its continuing expansion to keep pace with the explosive growth in the telecommunications industry. A small ceremony marking the groundbreaking was held Thursday, August 4, 2005 at the location of the future structure, 9500 Technology Drive in Manassas, VA, adjacent to the current Falcon Communications headquarters. Among the attendees were Delegate Harry Parrish, Sean Connaughton, Chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, Kevin Kelley, Chairman of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce, Ken Solem, President of the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce, Mike Gough, President of Falcon and Gerald Pankey, Chief Financial Officer of Falcon. Also in attendance were the architect of the project John Heltzel and Chuck Rector, President of Rector Construction Company who will be building the project and Gary Jones of The Fauquier Bank who is providing the financing for the project. Mayor Doug Waldron and City Manager Larry Hughes were unable to attend due to a meeting out of the city.
“With Falcon's continued exponential success and growth, it became apparent that we could not continue with only our current facility. After evaluating our entire business model, we decided to begin the design of a new warehouse facility that had the capacity necessary to continue providing our customers with the very best products and services possible,” commented Creston M. Owen. “Falcon today is servicing thousands of clients in the mid-Atlantic region. In order to maintain this level of commitment to our customers, it was necessary to begin taking measures to ensure that we have enough products and materials on hand to supply our customers’ ongoing telecommunication demands. Our customers are the reason for this move and growth. Without them, we would not be successful. We cherish them and thank them for creating the need for this new space. As CEO of the company, it is my job to keep up with the demand of our customers and to ensure that we are always achieving the levels of service that our customers have come to know and love, and I am happy to oblige,” Owen concluded.
The new warehouse is conveniently located off Route 28 near the 234 Bypass convenient to Route 66 and Route 95. The choice to build in Manassas is one that affects all of the citizens in our community. As we strengthen the businesses in the area, jobs are being created and further opportunity for prosperity is eminent. Not only is there growth occurring within the Falcon Family, but in the Prince William County community as well. Nationwide Refrigeration Inc. will also be locating their warehouse in the new facility and there will also be additional space for rent.
Owen went on to say, “I would like to extend our gratitude to all those who have helped make this warehouse project a reality for our company. Special thanks go to Chuck and Coleman Rector of Rector Construction Company, John F. Heltzel AIA - PC, Mike Massey of Ross France and Ratliff, Mike Vanderpool of Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian, P.C. and Jeff Sisson of the Fauquier Bank, and my partners in the project, Gerald Wilson and Gerald Pankey for their hard work and dedication.”
