Rotary Club of Manassas Presents Rotarian of the Year Award to Creston M. Owen and Kenny Loveless

Manassas VA , August 15, 2007 – Creston M. Owen, Rotarian and owner of local Falcon Communications Solutions, and Kenny Loveless, Rotarian and partner at Northside Auto Sales, were both honored with the Rotary Club of Manassas’ annual Rotarian of the Year Award on July 11, 2007 at the club’s annual banquet.

The award, which was presented by the club’s immediate past president, Dick Manson, is bestowed each year at the president’s discretion for exemplary service to the Rotary Club and community. According to Mr. Manson, Mr. Owen and Mr. Loveless “embodied the Rotary Club’s motto of ‘Service above Self’ throughout the year, particularly through their dedicated efforts as co-chair of the club’s membership committee.”

After receiving the award Mr. Owen was honored, stating, “I’m humbled that my efforts stood out to Dick; this is a very prestigious award. Yet I don’t think I’m being cliché when I say that the best reward for my work is knowing that our committee has now brought the club’s membership retention to an all time high. The Rotary Club of Manassas is a vitally important organization that supports several branches of this community and, just as in a business; the club is made better and stronger when it has quality members who are dedicated to their community. That is what our committee strove for and achieved this year.”

Honored along side Mr. Owen was Mr. Loveless, who co-chaired the membership committee with Mr. Owen, has served the community as a Rotarian for the past 14 years. “Being a member of the Rotary Club provides a sense of fellowship and it’s my way of giving something back all the communities – local, national, and international,” stated Mr. Loveless. “Working with Creston on membership this year has made the benefits of serving as a Rotarian even more rewarding.”

Mr. Owen, now beginning his fifth year as a Rotarian, is intending to serve his community with as much dedication as ever. This award is one of several that Mr. Owen has received for his community involvement, and is the second from the Rotary Club of Manassas. Last year, Mr. Owen’s Hurricane Katrina efforts were honored with the club’s inaugural Harry J. Parish Service Above Self Award.
